The Design Process

    We start by getting to know you — your home, your lifestyle, your family, and how you want your space to look and feel. We’ll discuss your goals, priorities, preferences, and overall vision for the project.

    Understanding how you live is an essential part of our process. Every NAP Interiors project is thoughtfully tailored to the people who will call it home, creating a space that feels distinctly and exclusively yours.

  • This is where your vision begins to take shape. Our design process moves through two key stages: Conceptual Design and Design Development.

    Conceptual Design

    We begin by exploring the overall direction for your home through inspiration, space planning, and an initial conceptual presentation. Together, we’ll establish the look, feel, and functionality of the spaces before developing the design in greater detail.

    During this stage, we develop floor plans, establish preliminary selections and budget considerations, and begin coordinating with the appropriate contractors and trades. Early decisions are also made for items such as cabinetry, plumbing, lighting, appliances, and other elements that require additional coordination or longer lead times.

    Design Development

    Once the overall direction is approved, we develop every layer of the design.

    NAP Interiors curates the complete finish palette, refines layouts, designs custom elements, and selects the materials, fixtures, furnishings, and details that bring the concept to life. Physical samples allow you to see and feel the materials firsthand as we review the design together.

    Detailed plans, elevations, specifications, and other necessary documentation are then developed to clearly communicate the design to your contractor and trades — ensuring the vision can be executed with intention and precision.

  • Once selections are approved, we begin turning the design into reality.

    NAP Interiors manages the procurement process for approved furnishings, fixtures, materials, and custom pieces, coordinating directly with our trusted vendors and workrooms.

    Behind the scenes, we track orders and lead times, review shop drawings, coordinate with contractors and vendors, provide project updates, and issue updated or final design documentation as needed.

    Our goal is to manage the many moving pieces of the project so that everything is thoughtfully coordinated and ready when it is needed.

    Throughout construction and installation, NAP Interiors remains involved to help ensure the approved design is implemented as envisioned. We collaborate closely with your contractor, trades, vendors, and workrooms; answer design-related questions; review details in the field; and address issues as they arise.

    This continued involvement helps protect the integrity of the design while keeping decisions coordinated throughout the project.

    When construction is complete, we oversee the installation and styling of furnishings, art, accessories, and finishing touches, transforming the completed space into a finished home.
